I have installed Windows Vista Ultimate on my desktop PC. So far, the usual: it is prettier but it feels noticeably slower and more unstable. The OS keeps asking for permission to do anything, but I know where that comes from and I don’t mind.

I have installed the home premium version on my Dual core desktop with 1Gb ram and a not so good graphics card and I think it is more responsive than XP Pro… just eats a ton of ram.
Got some time to have stability (due to drivers mainly) but now I’m very happy with the change.
One more thing, the system protection is a bit annoying… (yes! I want start Visual Studio on this machine!!!! I double clicked the freaking icon!!!)
Cheers!

Speaking of Visual Studio… gotta love service packs. VS2005 SP1 caused a pretty large number of lost hours at work, and then I tried to compile this old thing (dated back to Feb 2003) and…
1>d:\Dev\System\Base\LinkedList.h(18) : fatal error C1001: An internal error has occurred in the compiler.
1>(compiler file ‘msc1.cpp’, line 1393)
